A Little Baby Brings Big Changes Mama Peacock Baby Owl began when my daughter was just a few months old. As a passionate elementary teacher, I was used to working many, many hours. In those early months as a new mom, I needed something to fill the time between feedings and diaper changes. One tutu project turned into more. Soon, I was trying to give away as many tutus as I could as I experimented with different materials and methods.
The Birth of a New Business Eventually, friends began requesting custom orders for birthdays and parties. Then, a well-respected photographer worked with us for my daughter's first birthday photo session. She assured me that the props I made for our photo shoot were indeed worthy of an Etsy business. I opened up my online shop in August of 2014, and here we are, thousands of yards of tulle later!
The partnership of a Peacock and an Owl Though I had sworn I would never be a mom who dressed her daughter in pink ruffles and big hair bows, it slowly happened anyway. I became a mother who loved to show off her beautiful little girl, who we nicknamed "Baby Owl" after her nursery theme. I was as proud as a peacock, you might say. Mama Peacock (great showiness) and Baby Owl (wise choices) became the driving philosophy of our business. As she grows, Baby Owl contributes more to the business, including co-designing shirts and modeling products with a side of sass. Her most important job? Testing new products by beating the heck outta 'em.
Proud parents like us love to show off our precious brood with fun outfits and on-trend props. Whether we're hiring professional photographers or posting our own shots on Instagram, we want to be wise about how we invest our time and money. Many of our products do double duty and are designed with top-quality materials and craftsmanship to last beyond one photo session or event. Mama Peacock Baby Owl promises to offer great value and flexibility with superbly made products. Celebrate with us in fine-feathered style, because kids are precious. Their clothes shouldn't be.
